In 2019, to support the development of an enabling environment for inclusive businesses in Viet Nam, the Agency for Enterprise Development (AED) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) requested the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the Inclusive Business Action Network (iBAN) to conduct the present landscape study.

The United Nations Responsible Business and Human Rights Forum convenes governments, civil society organizations, and businesses for constructive dialogue and peer-learning on how to strengthen responsible business and human rights in the region.

Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), and Kiva will be co-hosting a webinar in collaboration with South Pacific Business Development (SPBD) and Chamroeun Microfinance. The webinar will present the preliminary findings of data collection undertaken from microfinance women entrepreneur clients in Cambodia, Fiji and Samoa.

Companies with inclusive business (IB) models can play a strong role in making economic growth in Cambodia more inclusive and beneficial to poor and low-income people. Inclusive business models provide goods, services, and livelihoods on a commercially viable basis and at scale, to people living at the base of the pyramid. These businesses promote social transformations as they have a large and deep social impact.
