Inaugural ARTNETonSTI Conversation: How Can We Harness Science, Technology & Innovation to Build Back Better?
We are living through a decisive moment. The COVID-19 pandemic’s devasting impact is reaching every corner of the world. Science, technology and innovation are critical to responding, recovering and rebuilding.
Yet, to recover from this massive shock and build back better, innovation policies are in need of innovation. To meet the ambitions of the SDGs, we need to build technological and innovation capabilities that can solve the pressing economic, social and environmental challenges of our time. This requires innovation policies that go beyond economic imperatives to include social and environmental goals and integrating inclusive dimensions into these policies to leave no one behind.
Extraordinary times require extraordinary policies, actions and collaborations. To build back better, next generation innovation policies must focus on what truly matters, bring transformative change, and address the legitimate concerns of diverse stakeholders.
The inaugural ARTNETonSTI Webinar will seek your views on how – together – we can develop a new vision for Asia and the Pacific to harness technology and innovation to build back better.
You will have the opportunity to hear the observations of ESCAP and diverse stakeholders, and to share your insights to shape this vision.
