IIC ASIA 2020: TELECOMS, MEDIA & REGULATORY FORUM

The International Institute of Communications (IIC) and ESCAP are collaborating to hold a Telecommunications & Media Forum (TMF) on 18 and 19 February. This event is open to statutory national regulators and stakeholders from the telecoms, media and technology sector. It follows the day after a closed meeting for regulators only, the Regional Regulators’ Forum, on 17 February.
Themes for the TMF include:
- Accelerating digital transformation and driving the digital economy in the region
- Telco futures - investment, infrastructure and innovation
- Content futures - content and online video in a post-convergence world; platforms and pluralism in the global, digital environment
- National privacy agendas post GDPR - data protection regulation, objectives, effectiveness and impacts
- Artificial Intelligence and machine learning – policy & regulatory approaches to ensure that the benefits of AI are distributed across society
- Cybersecurity and the data economy in the IoT era: rules and tools of engagement
The IIC is committed to helping policymakers and regulators find the best regulatory and policy frameworks for the widest societal benefit.
