2017 Visiting Researcher Program Performance Report

The Science and Technology Policy Institute(STEPI) has played a key role in the development of S&T policies as a global think-tank for science and technology and innovation policy research. The demand for learning Korea’s economic development experience has rapidly increased in the developing countries. Particularly, the researchers have a great demand for research on development through the comparative study of science, technology and innovation policy. To meet these demands, a Visiting Researcher Program was launched in 2014 by International Innovation Cooperation Center at Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI-IICC). STEPI-IICC offers a Visiting Researcher Program to host a small number of excellent visiting researchers twice a year. The program is intended for governmental officials and international research scholars interested in the fields of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) policy research in Korea, and offers stays generally ranging from 2 to 3 weeks. Those whose research interests fit most closely with our research, including those with whom we already collaborate, are especially welcomed. The program aims to promote exchange of ideas and knowledge sharing in the area of STI policy between researchers and institutions, and to foster international cooperation. By means of this program, we hope that the researchers will contribute to the development of ongoing research projects or to the launching of new collaborations.
