The Asia-Pacific Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) network brings together FDI experts and policymakers from a number of Governments of Least Developed and Landlocked Developing Countries of the ESCAP region to discuss and share experiences and best practices on the promotion of FDI for inclusive and sustainable development. The Fourth Meeting of the Network will discuss policies and mechanisms in place for harmonizing and synergizing FDI policy with other policy areas, including policies related to economic/industrial development (trade, science, technology and innovation, infrastructure and industrial policy), as well as policies related environmental and social considerations. It will also discuss linkages between FDI, sustainable development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Participants will exchange experiences and best practices on FDI policymaking and identify key issues that could be addressed through regional cooperation or further study. The meeting is being held back-to-back with the Asia-Pacific Business Forum 2014.
